Has The Quran Been Changed? The question of whether the Quran has been modified is complicated and contentious one. According to Islamic theology, the Quran is the true word of God as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over a 23-year period.
Muslims believe it was audibly delivered in Classical Arabic and has been preserved without any alterations since its revelation.
The Quran Has Not Changed!
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ
It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it.
From the time of its revelation, the Quran has been transmitted orally and in writing, and early Islamic scholars worked hard to ensure its accuracy.
The preservation procedure was rigorous, comprising memorization by the Prophet’s followers, writing it down on various materials, and compiling the Quran into a single book under the reigns of the first caliph, Abu Bakr, and later the third caliph, Uthman.
